The Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME)
Located at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC), the The Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) serves the educational needs of all RMG practicing physicians. Riverside's OCME is accredited by the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) Intrastate Accreditation Council for continuing medical education. Office staff are available to help plan CME opportunities as well as oversee opportunities at Riverside to earn CME credits.
In addition to insuring the safe delivery and dispensing of medications throughout the health system, the pharmacy department provides consulting services in the area of Nutrition, Oncology and Pharmacokinetic Dosing. The pharmacy staff of managers, pharmacists and technicians are experienced in all aspects of pharmaceutical operations.
Most all outpatient appointments for diagnostic testing, PT, OT and speech therapy for Riverside Regional Medical Center, Walter Reed, Tappahannock and Shore Memorial Hospitals as well as the diagnostic centers located in Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg and Smithfield can be secured through the central scheduling system. Direct, online scheduling is available 24 hours a day or you may call the Central Scheduling department Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm at (757) 989-8830 and select option 2.
The Institutional Review Board or "IRB," is established at Riverside Regional Medical Center for the purpose of protecting the rights and welfare of patients involved in research protocols. The Board abides by the federal regulations in the Federal Register (21CFR Part 56) on Protection of Human Subjects.
