The Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) located at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) serves the educational needs of all RMG practicing physicians. Riverside's OCME is accredited by the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) Intrastate Accreditation Council for continuing medical education.
Riverside OCME focuses on the needs and interests of our medical staff. The type of activities we provide include grand rounds, clinicopathologic conferences, cancer case conferences, and selected symposia. Physician educational needs are under continual review and lecture series' featuring local and nationally recognized experts are developed to meet the needs of our local medical community.
Lecture or conference CME qualification and planning
In order to insure that conferences or lectures qualify for CME credit, a Conference Planning “CME prep kit” provides an outline and numerous other supporting documents to assist in the development of single presentations (i.e. grand rounds, clinicopathologic conferences), a series of presentations (e.g. cancer case conferences), or symposia (e.g. Hampton Roads Trauma Symposium). Please notify the OCME well in advance of the proposed lecture or conference so we can develop all elements needed to qualify for Category 1 CME credit and work with the planners to obtain approval from the CME committee.
Upcoming programs or conferences pre-qualified for CME credit as well as past CME activities are listed on the CME Calendar page.
After a CME activity is completed, an audio version as well as the speaker’s PowerPoint presentation (when available) is posted on riversideMD.net so that providers who were unable to attend may review these lectures and claim CME credit.
We encourage all providers to make CME activity or educational need or interest area recommendations to the CME committee. If you wish to make a recommendation, please complete the needs assessment form (pdf). Please
contact us at any time if you need any help or
assistance with CME related issues.
