Daniel Muench, MD
You might expect a "doctor to the stars" to practice medicine with his head in the clouds. But Daniel Muench, M.D., has his feet planted firmly on the ground, despite several star-studded years living in Hawaii. Destined for a career surrounded by cameras and celebrities, it makes perfect sense that the impetus to his career in medicine took the form of M.A.S.H. episodes. "Their job became the ideal profession," Dan remembers.
Dan can't help but stay down-to-earth. Growing up in a low income household outside Cincinnati, advanced degrees could easily have been written off as financial impossibilities. Instead, he worked tirelessly to put himself through college, spending nights working as a restaurant manager while earning a bachelor's degree. Dan then spent six years as a chemist--the stretch of time he jokingly refers to as "the years I worked for a living"--before entering medical school at The University of Cincinnati. More>
